Because diversity and inclusion is more than just black and white we must engage our dialogues in a way that acknowledge the changing cultural and social definition of America, that we are becoming a collective of differences that we must embrace and celebrate, and more importantly unite as a country.

It does us no good if we fail to engage in a conversation that touches on the growing wave of discrimination toward those who identify as transgender, or fail to include in our conversations the mounting attacks on the rights of women, the scarcity of services available to our returning veterans to treat their PTSD that seems to be part of the baggage that returns with them from their military engagements around the world protecting our freedom.

Our community in Sarasota reflects this global diversity that we must be made aware of and we must always  include those who have been too often marginalized or ignored in our community in our outreach to make this area of the country truly the dream for all who have chosen  to live here.

– Chief Judge Charles E. Williams
