Dear Patrons and Friends,
It is with great sadness that we are forced to close our theatres for the remainder of the Winter 2020 Season. We plan to reopen with the Summer Mainstage Season the first week of June.
This decision comes following the CDC’s latest update, issued last night, which changed its size recommendation on large gatherings from a maximum of 250 persons (which marked all of our theatres safe) down to no more than 50.
This decision is not one we make lightly. Ultimately, caring for our patrons, artists, staff, and their families continues to be our top priority here at FST. Therefore, we know that this course of action is the right one.
As you can imagine, the financial impact to Florida Studio Theatre will be significant. As a result of this closure and show cancellations, we project a loss of over $1 Million in revenue this season. We are also suffering losses for next year’s season.
With this in mind, we are asking you to please consider donating any tickets for cancelled productions back to FST. By doing so, you will be helping us limit the significant financial impact to the company as well as helping our staff weather this difficult period. You will also receive an acknowledgement letter recognizing your tax-deductible gift for your tax purposes.
Now, more than ever, we need your support. Any other contributions you are willing to make at this time would be greatly appreciated and will go toward the FST Artist and Staff Assistance Fund.
Our thoughts are with everyone: our patrons, staff, artists, and their families at this difficult time.
We appreciate your loyalty. Stay well and thank you in advance for your continued support of FST.
